| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 25, 2006 This beer pours hazy straw-colored with a medium white head. Only decent retention and lace (like more in a pils).
Saaz aromas leap out on first sniff, but tragically disappear after a few minutes. I’ve had this problem before with GV - really nice aromas that only last a few minutes. The malts then develop in the nose.
Red Hills Pils is full-bodied and a little bitter for the style, with some hops in the finish as well. The main flavors are pale malts and a little bit of acidity. The first whiff was very promising, and the beer turned out to be very average. linc33 (177), Albany, New York, USA

This off reddish colored beer with a good nose was a great start finally. It was a easy to drink session beer and this was true so far for all Golden Valley brews. Crisp and had a slight bitterness this was becoming something. Good Job.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2006 This would be another great beer that I could just drink constantly as a session beer. A rich take on the style, with a nice body that is just enough of all its components that you do not get bored drinking it. The only things that got me was a bit of a cheesy pepper bite that came up from time to time in the finish. Otherwise very light, crips and refrshing beerinmarch (2800), Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 15, 2005 On tap at the brewery. This was a nice crisp grassy pils. Pours a nice glowing straw gold with great clarity and a fizzy white head. Great hop presence giving it a very crisp and refreshing flavor and a medium dry finish. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 6, 2004 Pale gold, ring of head, film of lacing. Aroma of clean pale malt & grassy faint hops. Not as toasty as I like but clean, refreshing, but ultimately boring. beerguy101 (3929), Newark, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2003 Medium gold color. Medium head. Aroma is malty, grainy and fruity. A medium bodied pilsner. Malts are fruity, mild and slightly sweet. Hops are slightly spicy and a touch grapefruit and floral. Well balanced. Light and refreshing. Nice pilsner. Smooth. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
