| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 17, 2007 Pours a transparent copper bronze with a nicely-lacing off-white head. Aroma of earthy English hops and sweet pale malt. Body starts with a full earthy caramel malty sweetness with some drier bittering hoppy notes and a touch of light fruity complexity. A nice English strong ale that hides its alcohol well. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

The flavor is of bitter caramel with a sharp bitter finish. Slick diacetyl mouthfeel. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 24, 2007 Bottle via trade with kenb, cheers! Pours a hazy, dark copper color, with a medium sized, creamy, tan colored head, nice lacing. Aroma is malt, sweet cherries, citrus, pine. Flavor is tart at first, then sweetens, cherry, caramel, floral hops, citrus, alcohol, there’s a lot going on here. Palate is medium-full, mildly carbonated, sweet, yet tart finish. Awesome, I love this! I musta got a great bottle, but this was really nice. HopDuvel99 (39), Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 21, 2007 Dark copper with a small, fleeting, light tan head. Hoppy aroma with malty/alcoholic undertones. Full body, lightly carbonated, slippery mouthfeel. Hoppy, then sweet and malty, then hoppy again in the finish and aftertaste. Powerful, unique, memorable. Dickinsonbeer (3500), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 29, 2006 Uh oh. Looks like some people had some sour beers here. Acquired mine through a trade with Larry Pitonka, Thanks Andre! Pours a deep ruby amber with a thin off white head and some light lacing. Aroma is thcik with toasted and caramel malts, vanilla phenols, lgith spice, and some fruity esters. Tons of thick toasted and bitter-like sweet malts, lightly hoppy, earthy, sticky sweet, and lightly astringent and very appropriate tannin-like harshness in the end. Pretty good english ale overall. Nice and not infected at all. Volgon (2490), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Dec 27, 2006 Thanks to Batkins for this one. This one had soured badly. The standout here was that I did get some almost some port like fruit notes but this baby had gone off and left it undrinkable. Sorry.
