Commercial Description:
Brewed to honor the brave souls who kept our brew pub open in the early 90’s while wrecking balls tore down the mall around us. Dry and smooth, with a grassy, citrus aroma and a honey malt middle. Brew House notes Style: Belgian Style Golden Ale Alcohol by Volume: 6.7% IBU’s: 45 Hops: Saaz, Chinook Malt: Pilzen Cellarman’s Notes. Demolition will remain fresh 180 days from the bottled on date. Unfiltered, so a light chill haze should be expected. Some yeast may settle in the bottom of the bottle, decant gently.

Bottle. Big malty nose with funky Saaz (how I miss thee!) and vaguely Belgian yeast. Caramel and bread. Clear orange with medium carbonation and a soapy beige head. Aftertaste is dry and yeasty. Relatively strong honey, touch of grass. Spicy malty body, faintly bitter and dry with caramel and crystal, a very good Golden but not much of a Belgian....

Smells grassy, citrusy...and...oddly like coca cola to me for some reason. Dark, clearish yellow color. Very thin white head. Biting fizz initial giving way to citrus hops that abruptly turn to bitter earthy tones in the finish. Very interesting, like a Belgian IPA with noble hops.

Bottled. Dark golden and orange in colour with a rather small head. Somewhat sweet but very well balanced with notes of grapefruit, citrus, yeast, caramel, grass and also has a hoppy and dry finish.

Bottle poured into a Trappist glass. Pours yellow/orange with a small white head which fades to a spotty film on top of the beer with spotty lacing. The aroma is slightly malty, hits of bread. The flavor is very nice, citrusy hops, orange and grapefruit, also some pineapple. There is also a grassy taste along with a little peppery. The finish is average length leaving a citrusy bitterness on the back of the tounge. The body is medium with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall I liked it, not a typical Belgian, it has more bitterness and it is fruityer. One thing that is lacking is the Belgian Yeastyness.

2006 bottle. Pours a rather clear orangy gold with a dense white head, thinning rappidly. The nose is sweet with malt. Herbal to grassy to lightly peppery hops over a bit of a fruity subtext. A creamy though slightly watery body gives this enough of a scaffold to put some flavor on, though the flavor is a bit watery too. The sweetness drops down substantially in the flavor, the hops become more grassier. Perhaps lemon grass? Grain of paradise? A dry long citrusy finish that is just not quite clean enough. Bitter, but not in a succulent way. Not a bad beer, but not a great beer.

2006 vintage. Bottle. Hazy golden with very little head. Aroma is sweet with hint of grassy hops. Initial sweetness followed by moderate bitter aftertaste. An OK brew.

Fairly bland aroma and beginning, but nice hop bitterness to finish. Cloudy yellow color, with less head than most Belgians.
