Commercial Description:
Brewed to honor the brave souls who kept our brew pub open in the early 90’s while wrecking balls tore down the mall around us. Dry and smooth, with a grassy, citrus aroma and a honey malt middle. Brew House notes Style: Belgian Style Golden Ale Alcohol by Volume: 6.7% IBU’s: 45 Hops: Saaz, Chinook Malt: Pilzen Cellarman’s Notes. Demolition will remain fresh 180 days from the bottled on date. Unfiltered, so a light chill haze should be expected. Some yeast may settle in the bottom of the bottle, decant gently.

1/20/07: Bottle.
Warm, golden wheat body followed by an off-white head which is quite clingy (heavy lace left on glass). Although my smeller is quite clogged at moment, the honey aroma is very easy to pick up on. Flavor is also full of honey and of course, hops. Grass and a bit of spice also noticed. Slightly bitter finish.

Bottle. Gold-orange in color. Honey-like aroma, and strong honey taste. The overall feel is spectacular: begins strong and full-bodied, then finishes into nothing. Demolition is a perfect name--theres something there, and then its gone.

Bottle 12 oz. Poured hazy orange color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate spicy fruity malty aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable complex beer.

12 oz., bottle pours a cloudy orange wqith 2 fingers of creamy white head. Smells of spice, primarily cinnamon, with some light fruits and yesast. Good and malty with a bit of a fruity taste, medium bodied. Very easy drinkin, and can taste virtually no alcohol.

Pours a clear peach amber with less than a quarter inch of soft white foam. This reduces to a film and a ring, which provides a little spotty lacing. Sweet honeyed malt in the aroma with a trace of alcohol. I am pleasantly surprised by the maltiness of this brew - with caramel, light fruit, honey, and a bit of candi sugar. A drier and grainy malt and some not quite spicy hops become more prominent in the finish. A tiny wee bit of alcohol and green peach linger in the aftertaste. Medium to full body, gently carbonated, and smooth.

As others observe I was anticipating a sort of Belgian blonde, but this is a hybrid beer, Mom’s a hopped up pils and Daddy’s an IPA. Crisp and punchy cold, perhaps a bit bitter, when warmer, the flavor and aroma both e/de-volve ino a crescendo of malty-fruity - dog ear impressions... lovely.

Something mysterious always gets me about this brew. I really don’t know what it is...not the orange color, for sure. Not the honeyish, pineapple, sour fruit aroma...or the taste of wheat grass, lemons and macha green tea, heavily earthy and tea-leaf flowery. Must be the spicy kick of those Saaz hops that lend a lovely balance to this brew and temper its fragrant meadow tendencies.
