Commercial Description:
Brewed to honor the brave souls who kept our brew pub open in the early 90’s while wrecking balls tore down the mall around us. Dry and smooth, with a grassy, citrus aroma and a honey malt middle. Brew House notes Style: Belgian Style Golden Ale Alcohol by Volume: 6.7% IBU’s: 45 Hops: Saaz, Chinook Malt: Pilzen Cellarman’s Notes. Demolition will remain fresh 180 days from the bottled on date. Unfiltered, so a light chill haze should be expected. Some yeast may settle in the bottom of the bottle, decant gently.

Pours golden amber with little head which quickly disappears. Flavor is sweet with a hint of spice. Clean finish, but lingering sugary mouthfeel.

pours like a tripel, smells like a tripel, but doesn’t quite taste like a tripel. it’s a muddy orange color with a wheaty/bready citrus aroma which punctuates the pale malt and clean noble hops. it tastes like an ’imperial witbier’ with the thick wheat flavors and the complex yeast flavors. for all the sweetness that the malt would create, there must be a ton of hops in here to result in the residual bitterness that this beer leaves on your palate. better than i expected it to be!

Golden with a small head. Subtal but sweet aroma. Strong hoppy sticky taste. Kind of stratles that area between a nice sesion beer and a special pour.

Fresh 2006 bottle. Poured a dark golden color with a descent size white head. Aroma was a little spicy, earthy, and malty. I also got a little citrusy aroma and flavor. This goose island also had a little more body than the other belgians which was nice. A little bitterness and also a little alcohol coming through.

Pours a medium golden color with a slight head. Tastes more like a barleywine. Some citrus and light malts.

Cloudy peach body. Thin white head with good lacing. Aromas of fruit, sugary, apricot, honey. Taste is quite sweet, but not cloying. You can tell this is malty, but there is some hoppiness present as well. Not mind blowing for the style, but a solid decent brew from GI.

Bottle at Goose Island Clybourne. Nice and sweet - Very well done with this belgian! A great mix of candy-like sweetness and hop bitterness that finishes with a bite.

Bottle poured a lightly hazy gold with a small creamy lasting white head. Aromas of fruit, carmel and a hint of oak. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of light fruit and straw with a dry bitter finish.
