Commercial Description:
Brewed to honor the brave souls who kept our brew pub open in the early 90’s while wrecking balls tore down the mall around us. Dry and smooth, with a grassy, citrus aroma and a honey malt middle. Brew House notes Style: Belgian Style Golden Ale Alcohol by Volume: 6.7% IBU’s: 45 Hops: Saaz, Chinook Malt: Pilzen Cellarman’s Notes. Demolition will remain fresh 180 days from the bottled on date. Unfiltered, so a light chill haze should be expected. Some yeast may settle in the bottom of the bottle, decant gently.

Lightly hazed, golden body. Earthy, lightly spiced, caramel aroma. Caramel, sugarry palate, not too thick. Rugged earthiness and hoppy grapefruit bitterness add good balance. Pretty tastey stuff but more American than Belgian in style.

Bottled. Pours a hazy medium orange with a thin head. Aromas of bread yeast and sour fruit. There is a faint bitterness in the taste along with some citrus. It finishes just a tad funky in the end.

Bottle: Aroma has lots of caramel and toffee with moderate yeastiness and fruit. Pours a mostly transparent orange with some haze and a small white head. Flavor has lots of caramel and toffee up front. Light yeastiness in the background. Finishes with a spicey bitterness that seems a little off to me.

12oz. Pours a orange color with a small fizzy white head. Nose is flat sour dough. Some yeast notes, a sweet presence, i get alot of honey out of this one. Taste is sweet, the honey is there, a bit of bready yeast, and a slight bitter finish. Until I recognized the aroma as honey, i was thinking this might hav egone bad. But when the scent got registered as something other then odd, this beer became more drinkable and enjoyed.

Bottled (6.22.05). Deep almost clear golden with a thin layer of white head. Sparse lacing as this went down. Sweet aroma with biscuits, lemon, pears, spices, and a solid floral hop presence. Overall sweet mouthfeel as well, and medium-bodied. Flavors followed the aroma very well, and the balance was fantastic. As Clark pointed out below, the alcohol presence is ideal... slightly warming, but non-invasive. Medium-length finish with pepper, bread, and lemon. Just a pleasure to drink!

Pours a dark gold color with a nice initial off white head but fades. Typical yeasty aromas with some fruit, bread, and light alcohol. Lots of sweet malt, along with some apricot and peach flavors. Spice and alcohol in the end.

12 oz. bottle @ Clybourn Brewpub: This one poured a very dark, golden color. There was a small white head with some lacing to it. The nose was very yeasty and fill of spiciness. Also a faint aroma of some fruits. The taste is excellent: notes of spiciness, bready, full bodied, rich. Nice beer!
