12oz, bottled on 7/22/04. Clear golden/amber color with a small off white head. Sweet malty aroma with hints of candi sugar and hops. Starts off mildly sweet with flavors of candi sugar, malt and caramel before turning dry on the finish with some bitter hops.

From the bottle. Pours a honey amber color. Aroma is spicy, oaky, and citrusy. Delicious spicy, candi sugar, and oak flavor. Lots of bubbly carbonation and a nice lively mouth feel. Very slight alcohol burn, but not to noticeable.

Bottle. Moderately opaque, medium amber colored. A small white head forms and fades to a thin layer across the surface, fair lacing is left behind. Aroma is spicey with a bit of tangarine-like citrus and a good dose of caramel. Medium bodied with ample carbonation. Sweet initially and then a somewhat dry and spicey hop balance moves in. Nice.

Crazy-bright orange colored (not copper... orange) with a large & creamy, off-white head. Rich and heavily citrus-hopped aroma, with mild banana but a blast of bakery... muffins or honeybuns. Sweet to start with heavy malts. It was like drinking a cake (regarding the flavor more than the consistency). Hops come out to add a nice, bitter sting to the sweetness (although it took a medicinal turn at times). Full bodied, creamy & syrupy with a dry finish. This beer was bigger than I had expected, in flavor, texture & wallop. Really something special.

Bottle, from New World Beer. Good nose, sweet. Sugar, orange, almond, butter, hints of spice and grass. Tad hazy goldish orange color, small head that faded quickly to a ring.Bitter sweet flavors, like aroma with almond and citrus stronger. A little of a burnt thing too. Medium body, lite oily viscous mouthfeel, Bitter spicy finish, a little pepper showed up. Nice beer, though it reminded me more of a IIPA or Barleywine.

12oz bottled on 4/29/05. Served at 61.5° in my NB worthy glass. $9/4 pack. Pours reddish orange with a small, then dissapering off white head. When swirled, the beer coats the glass. Doesn’t appear to have any yeast in the bottle. The aroma is barleywine-esque with some added yeast character and quite a bit of noble hops aroma. Citrus is also detected. There is a large amount of maltiness early on, which contributes to the taste and to the large mouthfeel. The malt gives way to a subtle bitterness and some slighty sour notes. It ends spicy and mildly sour. Now that it has warmed up a bit, I detect the alcohol, but it is just in the warming sensation felt in the mouth and nose.
