Commercial Description:
Like the digits suggest, it's a beer that's densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We don't filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. That’s how you know it’s unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. It’s not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that you’d expect.

Bottle.<!-- br --> Pours a light yellow with a large head that quickly disapates leaving decent lacing. Nose is light, bready with a very thin fruity component. Flavor is watered down, somewhat skunky, apple juice. It’s not undrinkable, just not something to be seeking out.

pretty unimpressive wheat. I had two, but it had an average body with only a touch of wheat and poorly balanced hops. Drinkable

On tap at Gino’s East Chicago. Pours a nice golden hazy color with a medium white head. Aroma of grass and citrus. Taste of wheat and malt. Smooth as silk and finishes with little tease from the hops.

Bottled. The body had the color of an unfiltered apple cider. Medium-lasting off-white head. Mild aroma of tangy wheat with a little yeast. Flavor was similiar. Overall, just slightly better than your average ho-hum American wheat.

Cloudy golden color with a small but sustained white head. Wheat and some citrus notes in the aroma. Creamy wheat mouthfeel and flavor. Not great but does the job on a warm day.

Cloudy, glowing electric yellow with a slight white head. Light citrusy lemon wheat flavor and nose. Unspectacular.

Shared with Immy. From bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with white head. Nose is musty wheat and light lemon. Flavor follows with a rough, metallic aftertaste. Lightly carbonated palate.

Light yellow and hazy, white crown. Light to moderate carbonation. Aroma is of delicate citrus with a little yeasiness. Wheat malt flavor with hints of lemon. Not too much hop flavor. This is a very light and refreshing American Wheat , but not as good as I remember it when it first came out. Actually, I think I’m going to get another bottle because I think something might be wrong with this one (unless they changed their recipe). Regardless, Goose Island is still one of my favorite micros. 12 oz bottle, $1.70 at The Party Source.
