Ughsmash (3079), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Nov 19, 2007 On tap at GI – Clybourn. Poured a lovely, clear reddish-caramel with a short, creamy white head and thorough coating lacing as it descended. The aroma picked up sweeter, candied floral notes backed by assertive dry white peppery spices, cloves, and corn-derived sweetness (that worked). The flavor was peppery and lively with strong, spicy yeast leading the way.. sweetness from medium-skinned fruits and caramel.. long, enjoyable finish. Higher carbonation on the palate with a creamy feel and a nice spicy contrast.. refreshing sweet peppery finish. Good stuff. xnoxhatex (791), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 12, 2007 On tap at GI Cly. Hazy red dark color with small ring of a white head. Fruity, red apple, sweet malt aroma. Spiced up flavor, fruity(grape, red fruit), very sweet and malty. Full bodied and no carb. Okay, a little sweet and no hop presence. Drjohnrock (95), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Oct 27, 2007 Bottle from The Party Source. Dark amber color, ample lasting head with good lacing, intense malt aroma, flavor much like the aroma. Very good seasonal effort from Goose Island. sersdf (867), chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 21, 2006 "i don’t know, it smells like an octoberfest and tastes really strongly nutty, lots of alcohol." is my voice note. this actually was pretty close to an octoberfest to me. tons of malt, very sweet and pretty pronounced alcohol. i got through it pretty easily, and i didn’t notice the rice/corn adjuncts mentioned in the description, but i definitely didn’t think it was that exceptional.
