On tap at Clybourn. Pours a clear somewhat red/auburn, glowing, small frothy white head. Aroma is pungent, moderately sweet, apple spice, Belgian yeast, estery, sharp banana, strong and sharp clove, light grassy edge, nutty, vegetables trailing off. Flavor follows, sweet, sticky, quite hot, estery, nutty, weird yeasty, tea-like bitterness. Medium bodied, noticeable alcohol, smooth fine carbonation, heavy.

On Tap @ Clybourn location. I don’t know, this one kinda had me guessing at the style, it was kinda of an in betweener of a begian ale, brown, ASA. Had some yeast but also nutty. Pours a nice orangish-brown, foamy head, malty aroma, taste is very malty and of dried dark fruits, yeast presence but lightly. Bitter aftertaste. An o.k. brew.

Interesting brew. On tap @ Goose Cly. Pours reddish brown with small off white head. Aroma of spices, sweet malt, touch of hops. Good flavor, spices and sweet malt mainly.

Draft sampler, Nov. 1. Another punchy amber ale with a mild snout full of American hops. Specialty malts give it a more spicy tone that sets it a little more apart.

Draft at GI Clybourn. Actually a Belgian strong ale. Pours a deep red-brown. Nose is very nicely hopped with some spice and pine. Taste is super grainy/spicy. Very clean tasting with a kiss of citrus, though the rye does dominate, a bit of sweetness from the corn as well. Finish is dry rye. Nice.

tap at goose island clybourn.... semi-clear caramel brown pour with a slight off-white head.... aroma of corn and grains, sweeter malts, and a little grass... flavors deeply embedded with grains and caramel maltiness that finishes with a slight spicy bitterness. thin layer of spicy rye throughout. medium carbonation and average mouthfeel.

I wasnt a real big fan of this draft. I usually like rye beers but this was a little too spicy. Alsmost grainy. It a nice creamy feel to it and looked great in the snifter, but the mix of rye and oats didnt really do it for me.

Draught @ Clybourn: This one came in a pint glass, even though the menu said it would be served in a tulip. It pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. There was only a little lacing. The aroma was that of earthy hops and some spices. The taste had earthy, biscuity notes as well as some peppery spices. It had a dry finish. Very Nice.
