Goose Island Barbary Blue

On tap at Goose Island Clark. Pours a thinner dark pinkish with a thin white froth. Aroma is cereal sweet, lightly tart, hint of fruit. Flavor is also cereal sweet, grainy, some wheat?, blueberries are nice but only pop up every few sips, too sweet. Medium bodied with active fizzy carbonation.

Tap from Goose Island pub in Wrigleyville. Pours a light yellow-orange with a small white head. Aroma is malty with a hint of fruit. Flavor is light as is the body with only a slight blueberry undertone. Not too dominating and very refreshing.

Tap at Wrigleyville. Poured amber with a purple tint. Head was off white. Aroma was sweet and full of blueberry notes. Flavor is overwhelmingly full of sweet blueberries. Way too much.

From the tap at the Wrigleyville Brew Pub. One of my friends bought it, and I must say I was extremely skeptical.... but it ended up being pretty decent. Taste was non-offensive, and it went down very smooth. Wouldn’t really recommend going out and getting a pint of it right now, but certainly worth the try.

draft at goose island. not terrible. split a pitcher with the gf. i tend to like blueberry beers a lot more than some other fruits, even though some homebrewing books seem to advise against using blueberries

Tap at Clybourn - RIP. Not my favorite. Cloyingly sweet, tasted kinda imitation blueberry. Boring, boring color.

Sampler at GI Clybourn, listed merely as "Blueberry Ale." Appealing reddish-brown color, very little foam in the taster glass.Light fruity smell is fine. But when I taste, I find the blueberries get a little too cloying, giving the impression of coming from concentrate.

draft at brewpub. disappointing- bit of wildness going on here, and not that clean/nice fresh fruit taste I like in a fruit beer.
