Commercial Description:
This intensely flavorful ale was brewed for the 2000th batch made at the Fulton production brewery. Enormous malt is met with huge hop character (80 IBU’s), and additional dry-hopping with Crystal and Ahtanum varieties gives an even more complex fruity aroma. Quantity is extremely limited.

Opulent, semi-translucent and cherry brass in color, glowing in the glass with a saliva splotch on top and a tight tan shaded lace wrung. Deep figs and cherries basted in brandy begin the nose, surrounded by golden raisins with some nutmeg and buttered rum cusps. Dates with a caramel plum marinade aromatically hint at an underlying and undulating toffee vibrancy. Hot flavor reservoir hits caramel dripping onto honey grahams to a point of toffee stasis, and breaking of said candy shell. Supple carbonation mates with marinating dates plucked from a pool of Disaronno-laden caramel cubes. Hot but not, through forever loverly on the palate. Full-bodied and an untouchable palate presence. Buttery incantations rise with a supple, sweet amaretto stream of drippings, longingly oozing throughout the foray. Hot, ripe candied dates and brandied figs complete the finish. Huge thanks to MrFacto for sharing!

I had this at the Horse Brass in Portland, OR. A great super duper hopped barley. Thick orangey amber with a creamy lace to finish. The alcohol-malt-yeast-hop combination gave it a unique toffee/sugar/bready flavor with the perfect balance attained through age.

Poured a hazy reddish amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of molasses, floral hops, ripe fruits, caramel malts, and a bit of alcohol as well. Taste of citrus, dried fruits, sweet caramel malts, more molasses, and a bit of mint leaf, with low alcohol, a bit of bitterness in the finish, and a chewy mouthfeel. Thanks to Steve for sharing this as a nightcap!

Intense is one word that fits this one quite well. Light copper in color with a lid of off-white bubbles. Pure hops and alcohol aroma. Perhaps to strong, but it works for me. Hot and spicy come to mind. Fruit and juicy in the flavors. My type of barley wine.

Red-beach color, little head. Rich, thick appearance and mouthfeel. Classic...absolutely classic barleywine. Minty malts with hops and caramel. So much balance here it’s tough to pick things out. Beautifully smooth. Thanks so much to Kevin, who brought this straight from Chicago on his travels to his new home in Colorado! Shared with Jazz88.
