Commercial Description:
This is a memorial beer brewed for the respected beer author Michael Jackson. It is a Brown Porter, which compared with our typical “robust” porters is lighter in color with less roast malt character, and a lighter body with a clean finish. Served in a Pint glass.

Draught at the brewpub, Clybourn location
Hazy dark brown color. Mild, nutty, with a mix of chocolate malt and roasted malt, but less interesting than the Naughty Goose or Dublin Stout.

Tap at Clybourn. Dark brown with ruby tint and no head. Very sweet, some roast, chocolate aroma. Flavor is bubblegum, mild roasted grain, very sweet, milk chocolate. Syrupy, medium bodied.NOt bad, a little too sweet and syrupy though. We’re going to miss you Mr. Jackson.

Tap at Clybourn and enjoyed with JSquire and MrFacto: Mahogany hued with a small frothy tan head and good lace. The aroma as notes of caramel, toffee, walnut, fig, prune, yeast, roasty, and aromatic pipe tobacco.

The taste starts fruity and malty with a nutty background. There is a minor lactic and chocolate twang at midsection before a mild smoky finish come through. The mouth feel is rich and lively, aggressive around the edges. This seems a bit Baltic like and is worth a try.

Never can pass up something new on tap at Clybourn. Very acurate desciption of brown porter - I could taste them both. However, it seemed pretty bland. It was a good on all aspects, just not as good as i was hoping. Maybe I was in the mood for something drier, but its something to try if you are there.

On tap at GI Clybourn. Poured deep brown with a short cap of beige head. The aroma picked up a decent amount of dark fruits with moderately-roasted chocolate almost taking second fiddle. The flavor was similar, again with moderate roast and the chocolates stood out more.. simple and likely intended more for the masses.. approachable and tasty. Short of medium-bodied with a decent feel on the palate.. seemed lacking at a couple points, but solid overall.
