on tap at GI Wrigleyville. pours reddish brown with very small white head. aroma of black pepper, toasted malts, and nuts. flavors mildly sweet and fruity with a toasty black pepper finish that is never harsh. low carbonation and watery body. the pepper gets a little annoying towards the end of the pint but this is a nice beer.

Thanks to Andrew for sending a growler my way! Poured clear ruddy amber with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up dry, cracked black pepper first and foremost with mild toasty dark fruit malts behind.. mellow with a welcome highlight from the pepper. The flavor had a bit of wheat along with the same fruity notes at the core (wheat or whatever that was provided more texture than flavor).. building black pepper toward the finish along with faint floral bitterness. Rather watery on the palate with low carbonation.. dry and a touch tacky on the back.. I think this would have been quite boring without the pepper.

Pour is clear ruby brown with no head...smell is lightly toasty with some nice green and black peppercorn twinges in it...faintly fruity too...taste is lightly toasty caramel with some dry pepper spiciness in the finish...very nice!
