Labeled Bourbon County Brand Stout 13%. Very brown black color that shows ruby at the edges (halogen) with a tan head that never really existed. Aromas of alcohol, bourbon, dark fruit, toasted malt and maybe wood. Full bodied with very mild carbonation. Flavor is bourbon, wood, raisin prune and chocolate. Probably other stuff too. Dates? Quite complex. There is sugar, but it’s not sticky sweet. Isn’t dry either. It’s quite a beer. zeke626 (301), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Dec 9, 2008 2008 bottle. Pours a pitch black, opaque body with a very thin, dark brown head. Complex, sweet aroma of bourbon, vanilla, caramel, and burnt sugar with hints of oak, smoke, and cocoa. Flavor is similar, although more toffee and caramel flavors seem to come through along with notes of dark fruits and espresso. Solid, thick body with a smooth and slightly oily mouthfeel. Bourbon and coffee finish with a light alcohol warmth. troopie (851), USA Dec 9, 2008 Bottle. Poured blacker than black with a thin brown head. Aroma of good bourbon, caramel and smoke. Full strong flavour, vanilla, malt chocolate, bourbon and smoke. Lasting malt and chocolate finish. This one is strong, sip it and enjoy i. PMgep (71), Lund, Sweden Dec 8, 2008 A color black as the night, and a thick, brown head. A thick aroma of coffee, burnt sugar and chocolate. The taste is sweet, with rasins, coffee, chokolate and bourbon. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Dec 7, 2008 tons of bourbon and chocolate triple bock like flavours ... pours with a full port with a touch of foam .. amazing sweet jealous aromas ... taste is just amazing, like a everyday sam adams triple bock... wow, what a brew!! i would go on but i have more left in the glass to drink right away.. untouchable..
absolutely a new favourite beer with me, i did lose a bottle in transit though!! fidelis83 (709), Clinton, Iowa, USA Dec 6, 2008 Pours charcoal black with a 1 finger beer bottle brown head that fades pretty quickly. Aroma is beyond huge, oak, bourbon, burnt sugar, vanilla, dark chocolate over coconut, theres more but suffice it so say that there is enough complexity there to keep you busy sniffing for a while. Flavor is just as huge, and better than the aroma. Chocolate, coconut, espresso, vanilla, a little oak, char, tons of caramel and toffee, pralines. Finish is really clean for such a big, sweet beer. There are no offputting lingering weird notes that you find in alot of big beers. Chocolate, bitter and floral hops, rye bread, and bourbon comes in pretty suddenly at the end. A great beer for this cold winter night. Come to think of it the best beer Ihave had in a long time.
