I will not take the time to describe what this one looks like, ’cause it looks like a stout. A Big, Bold Imperial Stout! Aroma and flavors of bourbon, vanilla, hints of chocolate & coffee. This one reminded me of Weyerbacher Heresey, but this one had a full bodied mouthfeel, where Heresey was a bit thin on the finish. There is a lot going on in this brew. The bourbon is a predominant flavor here, but does not overpower all that is going on . In the past, I have not been overly impressed with the relatively expensive brews, ( this one was $4.75 per 12 oz. bottle ) but this Goose is good. Damn Good! If you are a stout lover, as I’ve become, be sure to pick this one up/ Scubatrip (388), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 6, 2009 From the bottle, pours thick and black like 10W-40 motor oil, with a very small tan foamy head. Deep and rich aroma of dark malts with a hint of alcohol and a smoothness from the oak barrels. Taste is equally strong and rich, thick malts, some brown sugar/molasses, a bit of bourbon, a hint of alcohol, and a lightly bitter bite in the aftertaste. Thick and incredibly smooth, this is a pretty fantastic beer, though I’d be hard pressed to drink more than two at once. Taverner (878), San Ramon, California, USA

Pours black with almost no head. Nose is bourbon and a slight bit of molasses. Flavor is an INCREDIBLY smooth taste - with notes of raisins, currants, leather, tannins and just a little coffee. Finish is a nice woody note that begs for more. Sipping this beer is as close to heaven as you can get. krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 30, 2008 jet black. pours like spent oil. only the faintest signs of any head or carbonation. oak, toasty wood, molasses, prunes, bourbon, and vanilla all appear. i swear you can smell this stuff from a few feet away. this is a super rich, multi layered treat. loads of prune and figs stand out. the firm assertive and powerful combination of flavor is sweet and dense, but well hopped. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 7, 2007 (2005 bottle) Aromas of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, oak, and a touch of smoke arise from this glass after the pour. It pours a thick black with just a tiny ring of tan head around the edge of the glass. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, flavors of dark chocolate, molasses, vanilla, and a touch of bourbon. Slight warming in the chest as this was swallowed. Truly an exceptional beer. VikingHammer (363), Lynnfield, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jan 22, 2008 Pours a opaque black with a very thin light brown head. Beautiful lacing into my snifter. Aroma is amazing. Roasted and caramel malts compliment the vanilla, licorice and tawny port wonderfully. Alcohol is alway present, but not at all offending. The flavors match the aroma. Body is full and the texture is oily. Very similar to Dogfish’s World Wide Stout. Amazing stout. Wish it was available in Mass. BDR (2168), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
