Caramel, malt, and raison both in the nose and flavor. Really enjoyed this one.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a medium off-white head that laced nicely. Aroma is full of malty notes with undertones of nutmeg and cinnamon. The spices are not as prevalent in the flavor with a sweet caramel note dominating the beginning and more of a grainy finish with a bit of piney hops. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 14, 2009 A Mes rate. Bottle at the Rake. Thanks Caspar for the shout for this. RIch amber colour with a very good off white head. Good cheesey malt aroma with lots or caramel and faint notes of creme brûlée. Flavour is big burnt caramel and christmas spice. Certainly a Christmas beer, as to if it’s one I think is good, erm... No. Too sweet, too much caramel malt, not enough character. Decent but far from great.
