Pours a deep mahogany with a billowing egg shell head. Nose is lots og fruity and spicy hops, hints of plum, and caramel. Taste is Smooth, moderately sweet caramel body, heavy without being too sweet, crisp hops clash in a good way with the fruity sweet caramel base. Only a couple of notes on flavor, not terribly complex, but very tasty.

Bomber from Beverages 4 Less ($7.99). Pours a lovely dark amber color with orange-red hues and a finger and a half of fluffy head that leaves nice lacing. Subtle nose includes orange peel, pine, and some spice. Flavor is similarly mellow with caramel notes, tangy holiday spice, and hints of citrusy hops. Surprisingly creamy mouthfeel but feels a rather light for a Christmas ale.

22oz bottle, 2009. Opens far too easily with a minmal puff; doesnt look like this bottle got a good seal, and the carbonation is next to nil because of it. Clear brown with some red and almost no head. The aroma is a little muted and lightly oxidized with some wet cardboard going on. Some toasty malt and resiny hops in the background. Sweet flavor with some c aramel and toffee malt action, but a strong bitterness and spicy hop flavor as well. Piney and wintergreen flavor in the finish. Medium bodied with ver low carbonation. Overall, feels a bit oxidized and the flatness isn’t helping. Underneath though, this is a nice hoppy brown ale that would be worth revesiting on tap.

A bit too thin. Very hoppy and not too much spice, but it felt watery and didn’t have a christmas/winter beer feel to it.

Bottle enjoyed Christmas ’09.

This one was a Christmas present from my six-year-old, nicknamed "Goose". Beautiful brown and ruby pour, nice though not extravagant head. Very pretty beer. Gentle spices on the nose, maybe a whisper of citrus rind, some caramel. Beautiful flavor, excellently balanced, very rich; I would have called it at somewhere 7.5-9% given the flavor depth, though the mouthfeel is indeed a bit lighter than that. The result is a wonderful, highly drinkable old ale that I’ll be very pleased to have another chance to sample.

2009 bottle poured a caramel amber in color with a one finger off white foamy head. aroma has caramel, light spices, low intensity floral hops, and a bit of grass. mouth feel is average with a bit of sweetness on the tongue and a nice frothy carnation. flavor has a decent malted core, caramel sweetness, picks up some bitterness and a nice overlaid burst of hops. well balanced enjoyable holiday beer.

Pours a very clear amber color with a beautiful one inch head that makes a hooker horny. Aroma is sweet yet spicy with some hops present. Taste is hoppy spicey and bready (malty). Very crisp with a little hop bitterness at the end of the taste. Good stuff.
