Very heavy on the coffee, so it lives up to its billing. Probably not something I could have alot of since it was a bit oily, but in the snifter it worked well as an after dinner drink. porter4porter (32), Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 26, 2008 Pours a dark brown as you would expect a coffee stout, coffee flavor is overpowering and not subtle, could benefit from a bit more complexity w/ coffee taste dialed down some golubj (1287), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 14, 2007 Draft. Flavor almost entirely of roasted coffee / coffee grounds. Not my favorite style, but seemed average against other coffee styles I have had. alexanderj (2252), Chino Hills, California, USA

Since I don’t like that strong of a coffee flavor I didnt. Could have liked more complexity...it might be there for those used to coffee. (Rerate in May of 2008; similar comments. Aroma of a coffeeshop. Flavor was just too much like coffee for me. Liked a bit better this time; previous rating was 2.5, this time was 3.0. Averaged those). | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 7, 2007 On tap at StoutFest. Poured a deep brown with rising carbonation and a loose-bubbled head. Day old coffee grounds in the aroma.. midly-roasted.. a little earth emerges as it warms up... decent, but no more. The coffee flavor slightly beat out the coffee aroma.. carrying most of the focus.. some dark chocolate deeper down.. accented by mild coffee bitterness and sourness all around. Lighter-bodied with a coffee-like consistency.. tad grainy.
