Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 13, 2008 Hazy amber. Rich malty nose with alcohol, light peach, and some phenols. Soft caramel, with an earthy character. Has a gentle fruitiness and finishes with an alcoholic splash that melds with the caramel. CaptainCougar (4638), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 11, 2005 On tap at the 2005 Great Taste of the Midwest: Pours a clear copper bronze with a frothy, well-lacing off-white head. Aroma is fresh, citric and piney hoppy with a nice sweet caramel balance. Body is sweet and bitter turning more dry toward the hoppy finish. Has a decent balance throughout and hides its alcohol very well. hopscotch (4485), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 25, 2008 Bottle... MBSBF’08 ... Murky amber ale. Barley wine-like aroma... notes of white pepper, caramel and brown sugar. Full-bodied and chewy with modest carbonation. Caramel-praline hybrid sweetness in both the flavor and finish. Thanks go out to Beershine for sharing the bottle! Cornfield (4263), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA May 10, 2005 Updated: Jul 26, 2005This is a Belgian strong ale, not a barley wine. It pours a deep amber/copper body with a frothy white head that does alot of lacing as it dies. It’s got a lively, fruity nose, dark fruits and dried fruits mostly, backed up with rock candy and alcohol. The flavor unfortunately falls short of the aroma. Some fruitiness and alcohol, but in a dull, muted fashion. The finish is sticky, sweet, and warm.

BBB63 (3803), La Porte, Indiana, USA Dec 17, 2007 Cheesehead YeHA 2007, bottle (2005) brought by Matt (MrFacto): Slightly hazed brown hue with minimal head and some spotty lace. The aroma has notes of BABY POOP, cheesy, high acidity, some caramel and candy, very earthy. The taste is quite syrupy and malty with over ripened apple and fusel alcohol. The mouth feel is thick and chewy with low level of soft carbonation. This is going downhill quick. (I swear I rated this but guess not)
