drfabulous (1211), Columbia, Missouri, USA Nov 3, 2009 Draught at Sycamore. This was very interesting. Light brown ale with a candy, caramel coconut vanilla taste. Very pleasant and sweet aroma. Liked it a lot. bonk0076 (21), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Nov 1, 2009 Dark amber brown color with a nice big head. Hints of nuts and caramel or butterscotch in the aroma. The same in the flavor. Nice beer SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA Oct 27, 2009 Draft at Goose Island Wrigleyville: Not sure if this is the right place for this or not - the beer I had was the barrel-aged imperial brown, but it was listed as 7.2% ABV and 55 IBUS. Anyways, phenomenal beer in many regards. Served in the proper glassware (snifter) but a bit cold. No problem, I had time. Great bronze body and a whipped thick white head. As the beer warms, both the nose and body come alive with a great balance of creamy caramel malt and woody barrel influence. Nicely bitter too, so everything just kind of jives together. Lots of vanilla, mashmellow, raisins, etc throughout. Very nice. shawnm213 (841), South Bend, Indiana, USA Oct 18, 2009 tap. pours a clear brown with a big tan head. notes of tofffee, bourbon, rum cake, zuchini bread, nuts, and butter scotch. good beer. smooth with a little roughness on the edges. tight. zvikar (412), Tel-Aviv, Israel Oct 15, 2009 @Freaktoberfest, pours amazing orange with a nice cream color head, aroma of butterscotch, cherry liquor and coconut where alcohole could be sensed, flavors of coconut pineapple, pinnacolada and marmalade with a bitter hoppy finish, medium to full bodied, nice stuff tmoreau (524), Lombard, Illinois, USA Oct 8, 2009 I was under the impression that the Imp. Brown Goose WAS only bourbon aged so why the multiple draft listings, rating #s and abvs? Oh well,... I enjoyed it at GI’s 09 Imp. Brown Goose Tapping at Lunar Brewing Co. on 10/07. It was snifter served, a dark brown color, with a creamy, light tan head and nice draping lace. The aroma was some roastiness, bourbon, cask oak, vanilla and coconut. The flavor added to these some nutty qualities, caramel, and chocolate, along with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. A flavorful, ampted to the max Brown Ale. Very nice! Next up was the 06 bottled version. hombrepalo (726), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 1, 2009 On Tap @ Wrigleyville GI. Hot. Dark brown with a tan lasting one-fingered head. Had to let this warm up a bit. Huge nose of dark sweetness, maple syrup, raisens, pruns, brown sugar. starting VERY fruity and ending very roasty, with coffee and chocolate coming through. Just the right amount of sweetness and bitterness. Clean finish, thick and creamy mouthfeel.
