Nice spicy-sweet citrus nose, some woody pine notes. Really a big nose, this one. Nice sheet of white lace. Flavor is mildly sweet, spicy citrus and caramel with some grass. Full bodied. Very flavorful and better balanced than expected, with a far cleaner finish than I would have thought possible for a beer like this. Excellent. Thanks again, Andy! joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 5, 2007 Pours a nice golden copper color with a big rocky white head. Great citrus, toffee, smokey nose with hints fo a little sweet malt. Great creamy mouthfeel with very strong citrus, and light floral piney hoppiness. There is a slight sweetness on the back bone of toffee and other malt sweet that carries the very well balanced citrus hoppiness to the finish. Naven (876), Poway, California, USA

Not the typical IIPA that I have grown to love. beautiful color, with nice lacing. Nice aroma of piney hops. But the flavor was too malty and not hoppy enough for me. There, I said it. If im drinking a IIPA, it better be a massive hop bomb. This wasn’t it. Good, but not great. kseecs16 (907), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 1, 2007 Bottle. Pours a light copper with a moderate off-white head. Tons of lacing. A full floral and pine aroma with an assertive malt presence. Nectar to the nostrils. Especially nicely balaned for IIPA. The strong malty body mingles wonderfully with the bitter sweet hops and the rich fruity character they lend to the beer. Not over poweringly bitter due to this great balance. Mouthfilling, full bodied and smooth with that perfect lingering bitterness that makes you want to drink another. mtdshn (174), Moline, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 25, 2007 Bottle. Poured a dark ruby red with just a lingering ring of a head. Fairly strong aromas of sweet malt, beet sugar, and a tad of nutmeg. Very warming mouthfeel with very smooth and abundant hops and a spicy aftertaste. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

12oz bottle with March 31, 2007 re-labeled on the label. It poured a light copper color with off white head. Nice bitter and mostly sweet smelling orange juice aroma with hints of malt in the background. Rich thick mouth feel that helps you realized this is a pretty big beer even though it is a very easy drinking flavor. There is a medley of hops notes ringing in right off the start with grapefruit, sweet orange juice, some pine bitterness and hints of floral hops. All the hop notes work well together creating a continuum from bitter to sweet hoppiness. Near the finish the malts start bubbling through the thick layer of hop goodness.
