Commercial Description:
Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in cabernet barrels with blackberries, Juliet is a tart, fruity, complex ale. Notes of wood, tannin, dark fruit and spice make Juliet an ideal beer to suggest to Pinot Noir enthusiasts and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian sour ales.

Thanks to Chicagobeeriot for the bottle! Batch 2 bottle... Bit of a gusher. Pour is slightly purple with a giant fizzy white head. Definitely over carbonated. Tart leathery aroma. Thin to medium bodied. Blackberries, oak tannins, and light spice. Tart and refreshing, far from sour. Clean dry finish.

Mostly amber/red pour with a thin white head. Aroma is strawberry, honey and tart yeast. Taste is more sour with rich carbonation and a dry finish.

i believe rusty brought this out on 11/27/2009. bottle jan 09 pours a hazy reddish shade of brown with a off white head which appeared to have some pink in it. it smells fruity tart... along with some woody notes, grain, must and herbs. it took me a bit to taste blackberries but they are definitely there... mixed in with minerals, red wine, wood, some vanilla, herbs and some peppery spice on the finish. the flavor and palate are shallow feeling... they lack a bit of depth and complexity. not saying it is not good, it is just missing something ... malty richness, perhaps added sour tang... to put it off. the body seems thin... light at least. but it is really drinkable. 7/4/7/3/15/3.6

Bottle shared by mfielden on BA at a tasting. Thanks, Mark! Pours a cloudy reddish color with a medium-sized off-white head and good lacing. Had this in the middle of a series of wild ales and lambics. Aroma was not incredibly pronounced compared to some of the Cantillons and such. Bretty funk, prosecco, red wine, and red berries were present. Flavor is tart, slightly funky and bretty, with red wine, prosecco, blackberry, and raspberry. Fairly light on the body with slight acidity and lasting tartness on the finish. Drinkability is high and this is pretty refreshing for a wild ale. Overall very good, but not quite a standout within its style.

Poured amber with a too much head, extra carbonated. Aroma was barnyard funk, rye and wood. Taste was vinegar, small berry flavor and rye with a decent finish. Very easy to drink but lack a bit more of a kick.

A Mes rate. Bottle at Borefts 10am day after hotel tasting.
An excellent red amber colour with a pinky off white head. An amazing Belgian style base beer with a stunning delicate sourness. Beautiful stuff, clean as hell and really downable. Something that reminds me a lot of Mr. Kipling’s Cherry Bakewell tarts. And that’s a good thing. Lovely dry finish with plenty of barrel showing but it sits just right. Excellent beer.

2009 bottle. Pours a hazy red and pink with a big foamy pink head. some nice lace. aroma is musty, a little bretty funk, must. Flavor is dusty, dry, raspberry fruit juice, mold. lively carbonation. Tastes like a dusty moldy funky sparkling sour fruit juice. Not what i expected. refreshing and good.
