swoopjones (1092), Buffalo, New York, USA May 21, 2008 On tap @ Goose Island Clybourn. Pours a medium amber with very mild aroma. Malty, bready & kind of dull. Malts dominate here but taste is rather muted & watered down. Ok alexanderj (1218), San Diego, California, USA May 20, 2008 Sample at Clybourn. Color was gold/amber. Not much aroma, but mostly malt/sweetness. Flavor was similar; sweet malt with some breadiness and light fruit presence. Not too flavorful, but solid overall. sneagrams3 (1367), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 19, 2008 Tasted 4/30/08. Sample from the Clybourne brewpub. Hazy with a dull golden reddish hue. Minimal head. Grainy sugary aromas. Light to medium bodied. Smooth yet bitter. Mild effervescence. Slightly tart and nutty. Mild lingering hop note. Mildly grassy. Meh... Ughsmash (2958), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Apr 29, 2006 On tap at Clybourn (as Myebock... 26% rye malt used, 6.8% alcohol). Poured a medium caramel/amber with a short off-white head... some lacing at the top. Toasted caramel, nuttiness, earth, grains, and spices in the nose... quite complex malt profile. Strong caramel and toffee base to the flavor, with spicy rye, light earthy & floral bitters at the edges, and some alcohol highlights at the back. Medium fruits showed up as this warmed. Medium carbonation and body. Not exceptionally smooth across the palate.. with rather brash alcohol highlights. A tad rough around the edges, but respectable overall.
