hogan873 (195), Joliet, Illinois, USA Jan 30, 2008 Another winner from Goose Island. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a tan head that leaves decent lacing. The sweet aroma has notes of chocolate, caramel, and tobacco. The mouthfeel is good with high carbonation. The sweetness of the aroma transfers well to the taste. Definite tobacco, honey, and chocolate give way to a dry finish. An interesting and delicious brew.
marchcow (513), Coralville, Iowa, USA Oct 4, 2008 Slight horseblanket wet dog aroma, sweet sugar and brown malt. Cola brown with a rich foamy tan head. Flavor is bitter brown leather and tobacco. Brown bread, some honey and floral notes. Palate is light with a slight sharp bite. Bitter woody duration. CaryTheDude (258), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Oct 1, 2008 No complaints. Yet another solid brew from the Goose, my Honkeybra’s favorite brewery. Standard brown ale, but not bad by any means. Lotsa nuts, some tobacco, and a hoppy dry finish. oh6gdx (6331), Vaasa, Finland Sep 30, 2008 Bottled@SBWF2008. Rubyish colour, small beige head.
