Commercial Description:
Brewed in the English tradition, Hex Nut Brown Ale combines the finest domestic and imported malts to produce a chestnut-hued ale of usual complexity. Subtle notes of chocolate, honey and fine tobacco give this world champion ale an enjoyable and satisfying "nutty" finish.

Flaske: Flot mørkebrun øl med et fint skumhoved. Karamelmalt er tydelig i duften. Drikkevenlig med en tydelig karamel og anelse chokolade i smagen. God mundfylde og fin øl.

Botella. Nice golden dark brown colour with a beige head. Sweet roasty caramel and malty aroma with a bit of chocolate. Sweet caramel roasty malty pleasant flavour with a good bitter hoppiness. Ends sweet and malty with a soft pleasant bitterness.

12oz bottle. Pours a deeper and darker brown with some red tints. Thin, tan head that dissipates immediately and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is a lightly sweetened, nutty caramel with a subtle fruit, chocolate, and roast. Flavor is the same. Nutty caramels up front with a soft chocolate, hint of honey, and a faint fruit before this finishes rich and smooth, with a light chocolate, toasted nut. Very light bitterness with a short aftertaste. Medium to full body and very smooth. Overall, a solid nut brown. Nothing exceptional in the least bit, but drinkable and balanced. Somewhat simple, but hard to complain.

Average size khaki head with a fair amount of lacing over a sienna colored body. Toasty, nutty, caramel malt aroma. Woodsy, nutty, slightly smokey, moderately sweet taste. Smooth, medium bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel with a subtle, bitter aftertaste and a short lived finish.

Bottle. Pours deep ruby brown with a beige head. The aroma has swet malt, some toffee, and a light honey sweetness. The flavor follows with a solid honey like sweetness, caramel, toffee, and a roasty hint. Decent.

Pours dark brown with a clean, thin, light tan head. This is a quite tasty, well-balanced brown ale. The aroma and flavor are understated, with dark earthy nut and roasted malt flavors. The carbonation is low and pleasant, and the flavor is just a little sweet and a little bitter. This is a very drinkable brew, but doesn’t stand out a lot in any category. Just plain old good beer.

Deep, ruby brown with a thick, beige head. The aroma is not hugely interesting and consists mainly of light roasty notes. It begins with thick, sweetish caramel in the mouth which becomes earthy mushroom and finally a strong, nutty crescendo. Totally quaffable with a great balance between depth and drinkability. It becomes a little sticky as you get further through it but it remains an excellent one.
