soccer290 (18), Highland Park, Illinois, USA May 25, 2008 Updated: Aug 15, 2008 Appearance is a dark brownish-red color, but not too dark. Aroma is lots of hops, mixed with some fruit. Flavor is fruity. The palate is harsh though, reminds me of an IPA bite, despite it being a BSA. Decent beer, nothing special though.
fordest (1778), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Oct 8, 2008 12 oz bottle. Another favorite of the night. Lots of caramel and other sweet malty flavors and aromas. Sweet through out with a finish that was just a touch fruity. Good stuff. padrefan98 (645), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Oct 6, 2008 12 oz bottle thanks to fordest. I thought this was fantastic. Lots of caramel, thick and sweet. Very good. gearbike (373), West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA Oct 5, 2008 Unclear golden color. You can tell this one is not from Belgium but it is good in its own right. Sweet with a medium body. Alchol hits you almost immediately. stefanje (595), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of fordest. Poured a copper color with no head. The aroma was loaded with caramel and mellow oranges. The flavor was caramel malts forward with some sweet winey fruits filling in the sides. The mouthfeel was malty bordering on syrupy. The finish was short and sweet. Overall; Too sweet and syrupy for me, but others seem to enjoy it immensely. CaptBier (256), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Oct 4, 2008 Clear copper, no head. Evident caramelly nose. Sweet with medium-full bodied. Fairly soft with with some apricot, caramelized sugar and glue. Intense, but a bit assaulting with a minty black currant finish.
