hopscotch (4588), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 19, 2008 Draft… DLD’08… Murky burnt orange ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The nose extends restrained fruity esters and spicy phenols. Light-bodied and spritzy. Perfectly-balanced flavor… very refreshing. Short, crisp, clean finish. I’m trying to stay dry during the work week nowadays and I would drink this beer every evening with dinner if I had access to it. Terrific, flawless, Belgian table beer! Cornfield (4343), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA May 8, 2008 Not much here on this "Belgian-Style Table Beer." It pours a brownish amber body with a slender white head that’s gone in no time. Almost no carbonation. It’s got a very, very light aroma, a soft touch of toffee with tea leaves and herbs. Watery. A faint hint of apples is added to the flavor, but it’s mainly some dusty old malt and herbs. The finish is an iced-tea dryness. Interesting experiment, but I believe I’ve had my fill. JPDIPSO (4286), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Jun 30, 2008 Draft at Clybourn. Copper to amber color with a small of-white head. Malt and dark caramel in the aromas. Toasted dry malt flavors. A barley tea quality. A real session brew. heemer77 (3782), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jun 17, 2008 On tap at the Clyborne brewpub. The body was dark brown and copper with a white head. The aroma was caramel and pancakes. Fairly earthy with some black tea notes. The taste was strongly black tea, but then behind that you get some toffee and roasted notes. There was also some dirty fresh lettuce. An interesting beer for sure. Ughsmash (3079), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 28, 2008 On tap at Goose – Clybourn. Poured hazy medium peach with about zero head sticking around. The aroma picked up sweet pale malts and faint fruits with light dusty hay and wheaty notes.. more pale malt and the slightest prickle of pepper with warmth. The flavor had light, tacky paler malts paired with a bit of caramel and honey for sweetness.. light bitterness around that was primarily grassy.. short finish that was pleasant enough. Light-bodied and dry on the palate with higher carbonation.. didn’t do much for me.
