Some mild lacing. Light aroma of malt. Sweet malt flavor. Honey maybe, with a good spice hop to balance. Very good. Leaves a very mild bitter and sweet flavor. Not too bad. Glad I tried this. Pours an burnt orange color with moderately thick white head. Slightly burnt, caramel flavor tends to dominate. Sort of half a lager, half a bock and the hybrid work OK, but not great. RedSox2004 (361), Pacific Palisades, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 29, 2008 Poured a clear gold/orange with a tight creamy white head that dissipated pretty quickly.
Had a nice clean smell with faint maltiness and honey.
Hops flavor offsets the sweetness of the malts; generally well balanced and, like the aromas, a real clean taste.
Medium body and carbonation.
Consider this a good beer to serve to friends, some of whom love good beer, some of whom don’t know a hop from a barley grain. BelgianBeerGal (1323), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 29, 2008 Bottled. Pours a orange/gold colour with a white film and medium lacing. Slight aroma of light, sweet malt. Rather sweet flavour, with a touch of alcohol in the finish. Easy drinking beer but nothing special. DubC5000 (202), San Diego, California, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Jan 12, 2008 Didn’t much like it. Far too sweet and too much alcohol flavor and burn, with an unpleasant bitterness at the end. Hint of dry maltiness near the bottom of the bottle, but not enough to balance out what this beer is lacking. Deceptively smooth aroma. Taverner (886), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2007 Bubblegum beer! Seriously, bubblegum was the dominant flavor in this stuff. For a Lager/Bock this wasn’t bad. Lots of head and it stuck around for some time. Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2007 Draft, consumed at Gordon Biersch Pasadena on 12/03/07. Intense, clear golden hue. No carbonation in evidence save for the thin ring around glass edge. No aroma. Yeasty flavors, spiciness on palate. Fruity (apricots, maybe?) with some restrained hoppiness. Dry on finish. Good drinking.
