Tap: Clear gold with a very sweet aroma. The flavor hides the higher alcohol % fairly well and it has a pretty smooth feel. The aftertaste is akin to a mild hefe.

on tap at Gordon Biersch in Midtown ATL. This beer is alright. It starts out nice, with a light hoppy feel and then falls apart on the finish somewhere. Virtually no aroma to speak of. A deep golden color. I’m not a big fan of GB’s beers, so I wasn’t expecting much. Their garlic fries are awesome though!

Bottle, California. Basic golden lager looks, sweet malty nose and sweetish malty flavor with some crispy hoppiness and alcoholic sweetness. Decent heller bock, yet I’d rather have a decent pils.

Bottle. Decent finger width white head, body is a nice copper color, very sweet and fruity, finishes unremarkable.

A medium godl color. Caramel & malt scent. Reminds me a bit of a Marzen, sweet full body, chewy malt, simple. Sslightly sweet follow. Seems GB is consistant in making decent, but rather uninspired brew for the masses.

Pours a really nice gold color (not surprising) with a small quickly disappearing head. Aroma leaves a little to be desired, some straw, alcohol, a little wood, banana for some reason. Flavor is fruit and some spices, pretty sweet. Alcohol warmth is noticeable in the finish but not overpowering. finish might be a little too sweet. Light body, moderately hopped. A nice try but really kind of disappointing. I don’t know why I ranked it so highly before.

Gold orange color. Aroma is sweet and buttery. Flavor is also buttery with some sweet light caramel malt backing. Finishes very sweet with some noticable alcohol. A little astringence too. From the other raters notes, mine must have been infected due to all the butterscotch notes. I will have to rate again.

On tap. Golden yellow, almost no head and very little carbonation. The aroma was very sweet and malty and hinted at what was to come... which was a super sugary sweet malt bomb that had a strange bitterness somewhere in there... not that easy to deal with. Took me quite awhile to finish it. And even though it was only 7%, the alcohol made itself apparent in a vaguely unpleasant sort of way.
