ilovedarkbeer (1326), Dallas, Texas, USA Nov 8, 2009 Pours a golden color with a smaller off white colored head. Notes of pears, earthy/catty hops, and dawn dish soap which is not necessarily a bad thing. Medium weight, medium finish. Easy quaffer. BMan1113VR (2757), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Nov 6, 2009 On tap. Clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is faint with grain notes. Taste is water, sharp and husky with a bitter finish but little hop flavor. Fizzy and dry. SSSteve (2047), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 30, 2009 12oz bottle. clear gold under a medium sized, quicky dissipating, foamy white head. clean refreshing aroma with some sweet malts and light fruity hops. flavor has some bitterness with some cereal flavors. just kind of bitter and uninteresting. jeffc666 (1886), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Oct 25, 2009 Bottle dated 9/18/09 - Clear apple juice body with a nice white head and nice lacing. Grainy, in a good way. Grassy continental hops. Lightly sweet with a nice balance of grain and hops. Crisp refreshing palate. Pretty decent stuff. HighGravity (890), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Oct 8, 2009 (Bottled on 08/25/09) This is one of those beers that if you like lager makes you think about the beer that almost is. While this beer is not a world classic it is nonetheless a nice beer. First and foremost it is dry and lightly bitter upfront and the finish is pils malt and moderate spicy hops. Certainly a beer that must be consumed very fresh. tmoreau (527), Lombard, Illinois, USA Oct 7, 2009 On tap and GB logo pint served at the Bollingbrook, IL. location. Poured a clear, golden amber with some off white, bubbly foam and thick curtains of lacing. Initially put off by a lightly pungent, acetic nose that seemed to last. The flavor was a full malt body, but the hop bitterness was astringently harsh. I finally gave up after 1/2 a glass. I’ve had a more pleasant experience with this beer in the past but didn’t review it at the time. Future sampling will happen down the road, but for now, I’m a little gun shy. Opivy44 (9), Novato, California, USA does not count Sep 17, 2009 I am more of an IPA Hoppy guy but I must say this is a very good beer! Hey Gordon, can you add some more hop aroma and hop flavor on your next go around? IT WILL BE AN AWESOME BEER! Thank you
