Pours a cloudy dark amber body with a huge frothy beige head that retained forever. Dark over-ripe banana nose with some light chocolate, fluffy yeast, and earthy wheat. Banana bread in a glass. The flavor is much the same, sweet crusty banana bread with some vanilla on the finish. Some light alcohol, cocoa, maybe a touch of nuttiness like black walnuts. Mouthfeel is soft and creamy with nice gentle carbonation. The was surprisingly good. For the price, this would be a nice go-to Fall beer. unclemattie (2413), Georgia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2009 This is my favorite of the Gordon Biersch beers. It pours kind of an ugly muddy brown color with a big off white head. The aroma is a little bready and herbal, with spices and berries. The flavor is strong with banana, clove, spice, herbal tea, and berries. A bit clunky, like most of GB beers, but tasty and not bad. BMan1113VR (2822), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
