It had several flavor stages, one I didn’t care for somewhat like a chemical taste, but the carmel and malt flavors were quite good. bbooth (115), Gilbert, Arizona, USA

Ruddy, deep tea color without a whole lot of head. Not too hoppy. Flavor was slightly tart, leaning towards the bready. Re-rated, 3/22/04 Miami: Fruity and somewhat musty malt aroma similar to what I associate with Kolsch. Good mahogany brew, good house glassware. Fairly sweet, somewhat tart, medium bittering - which is a combination of hops and malt, light diacetyls and caramel, very light phenols. Good mouthfeel and body, light astringency. ucsbdude (68), Santa Barbara, California, USA

Sweet opening a little cloying with a little lemony citrous middle , finish a little bitter. Gordon Biersch seems to worry more about making pretty beers than tasty beers.
