Pours brilliant amber. Decent head. Slightly skuny aroma. Rich malt character. Full flavor, slightly spritzy. Rich malty finish.

Tried a sample at Brewfest Tallahassee. Not quite as nutty and caramelly as the Marzen, but nice and drinkable. Session away.

On tap at the Bollingbrook, IL. location and served as a full sampler glass. The color was a hazy straw and the head was a grainy, white foam that left a few ribbons and spots of lacing on the glass. The nose was a touch of yeast and light Pils malt aroma, with the flavor adding some noble hints. Thin. Kind of a light German Pils. Okay for what it is, but no where close to an Oktoberfest/Marzen as the commercial description implies.

22 ounce sample purchased in Sacramento International AIrport. Metallic, nutty, lightly sweet, and spicy aroma. It’s pretty inert, nonetheless. Transparent orange body with a small whie head. Metallic, spicy hop lagerish start. A little biscuit in the middle. Dry, spicy hop finish. Not overly sweet. Seems more like a darker pils/dunkel than a marzen.

on tap at Gordon Biersch in Midtown Atlanta on 10/4/09... pours a copper color with a little head... very malt forward with a nut based nose... medium body... nice Oktoberfest... but somewhat boring.

This beer is lighter in color and aroma than their regular marzen, but much stronger in the malt flavors and dominance, to the point where I am not a fan. Overly malted for me.

(Bottled om 08/31/2009) A mostly balanced lager that leans slight toward sweet and spicy. Clean and well made without being very distinct, which I don’t think is an issue for this style.

nice amber color with a thin dissipating head. aroma is yeasty and spicy. flavor is malty and bready, aftertaste is a little unbalanced. sort of between an amber and nut brown ale. pretty good though not particularly memorable.
