From the Bolingbrook, IL location: Poured from a growler into a double-walled pint glass. Pour produced a cloudy yellow-brown body with very little head or lacing. Aroma is slightly fruity, and flavor a little sweet. Palate doesn’t really stand out, but is easy enough to drink.

Cloudy beige with a thick head. Fresh toasty nose with light yeastiness. Kellerbier accented. Very toasty on the palate with light yeast notes, maybe a hint of phenols. A little overcarbonated, like they all seem to be at the Miami location. Doesn’t quite come together beyond that little bit of fresh toastiness.

@ Miami. Hazy dark salmon color with thick foamy head. Fresh fruity aromas, spritzy with lemon-lime and ginger ale notes. Aerated, highly carbonated palate is quaffable but gassy. Solid, with admirable authenticity in terms of fresh bread and apple juice flavors. Toasty and a little sparged but good, all things considered.

Poured from tap at the brewery a copper brown with a thin white head. Aroma is slightly yeasty, tart grain, and caramel. Flavor is toasted bread, nutty, caramel and dry with a mild tart/bitter finish. Ok beer overall with decent flavor but nothing special.

On tap at Mission Valley location. Color was copper with a white head. Aroma was pretty spot on for the style; caramel, sweetish malt and a bit of german hops. Flavor was just decent. A little bit mellower than most of the style, with probably just a bit more hopping than most. Rather forgettable.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Spice, earth, and malt aroma. Spice, earth, and light caramel flavor. Medium body. Mineral, caramel, and spice linger - not as much caramel as many octoberfests.

This brew pours an amber body with a thin head. overly malted and unbalanced with a slight hop finish. cherries and licorice in the aroma, a dissapointing marzen.
