Strong, green-fruity, tangy, kinda doppel aroma that suggests hangover induction. Hefe-like cloudy gold. Nice Dimple mug with the logo. Session bittering, green nuts, starchy, strawberry tones. Mediuim body. Overall a raw, unfinished lagerish quality to the whole thing.

On tap at Gordon Biersch and served in an enormous dimpled mug.. Pours amber cloudy with a big tan creamy head that stays very well and laces the sides of the glass. Aromas of caramel malts, bannana, clove, dough, Flavor is caramel, with hints of bannana, clove, and yeast. Medium body and fair carbonation with a show of some german hops on the finish. Pretty nice fest I thought.

Old 2005 GCBC notes. Golden coppery pour with medium head. Malty sweet aroma and flavors. A touch of toast in the flavor as well, with a medium body.

Draft in Columbus. Poured dark amber with an average head that diminished slowly. Well balanced flavor to style. Medium body. Good malty wheat flavor with a small bitter finish of short duration.

Clear copper with a good head. Malty aroma with a touch of corn. The flavor is full of caramel and almost bready.

Foggy amber body, appears to have some thickness to it. Head is buttery yellow-white and medium thick. Aroma of lager hops, wheat and malted grains, is fresh but not strong or complex. Taste however is thin, not much of a Marzen, watery grains, small amount of fall spices. Decent beer, but not in the upper echelons of marzens. Sampled at Gordon Biersch in Tysons Corner, VA.

On tap at the Atlanta brewpub. dark golden. lace lasts forever. weird sour taste at first, causing me to ponder, is it skunked? contaminated? has something gone wrong? this is the last beer I tasted, and it doesn’t go with the others... kind of a caramel flavor after the initial bad taste.
