I had this side by side with their traditional Maerzen and the two are almost indistinguishable. This is identical in red-orange-amber color to their Maerzen. It has a lighter and bit spicier aroma. The flavor is similarly based on the roasty malt, but not as rich as the Maerzen. I actually like this version better.

Got this from Safeway on sale. Perfect malt, hop and spice balance. Highly, highly recommended. Almost as good as my favorite Stella Artois. $6.99 a six pack. 200%.

Cloudy orange amber color. Malty, spiced apple aroma. Balanced sweetness with clove aftertaste.

Mmm. This is good stuff. I haven’t had much in the way of Oktoberfests before, but if this one’s an indication, I’ll seek them out more often. Gusler’s description is dead on. I only wish I had drunk it on a cool fall night instead of a warm one in Honolulu.

On tap at Reagan International Airport in D.C....Clear amber color....Lasting head...Bready aroma...Smooth and easy drinking...Malty finish....About like their regular Marzen...A bit maltier and fuller tasting...

Nice light and crisp Oktoberfest style Maerzen. A pity that it’s seasonal.

The beer poured a slightly hazy amber color with a two finger creamy white head that slowly erodes leaving a fine coating of lace to conceal the glass. Nose has a sweet malt aroma; earthy, spicy, crisp and pleasant, start has a sweet malt profile, light hop bitterness at back, top medium in feel. Finish has a determined acidity, hops mild but pleasing in their bite, dry lingering aftertaste, a quite nice beer, well worth a sample

Draught Palo Alto. Doughy aroma, like a German helles. Cloudy amber body with an off-white head. Much like a German o’fest. Not bad at all at what it’s trying to be. Pretty tasty. A good o’fest.
