This is identical in red-orange-amber color to their Maerzen. It has a lighter and bit spicier aroma. The flavor is similarly based on the roasty malt, but not as rich as the Maerzen. I actually like this version better. scanman (146), Santa Cruz, California, USA

I haven’t had much in the way of Oktoberfests before, but if this one’s an indication, I’ll seek them out more often. Gusler’s description is dead on. I only wish I had drunk it on a cool fall night instead of a warm one in Honolulu. Uglyradio (775), Greenville, South Carolina, USA

Nose has a sweet malt aroma; earthy, spicy, crisp and pleasant, start has a sweet malt profile, light hop bitterness at back, top medium in feel. Finish has a determined acidity, hops mild but pleasing in their bite, dry lingering aftertaste, a quite nice beer, well worth a sample Earlier Rating: 10/22/2000 Total Score: 3.8 The beer poured a slightly hazy amber color with a two finger creamy white head that slowly erodes leaving a fine coating of lace to conceal the glass.
