| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 19, 2004 Aromas of grain and grass. Pale, flat yellow in the glass with no head. Unintersting palate -- thin and invisible on the back end. Flavors are also grainy and a little acidic. The hops are hard to find in this helles. mjg74 (2000), La Mesa, California, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 8, 2004 Pours clear and golden with a large, foamy white head that lingered decently and left some lacing. Aroma is malty, alfalfa and light hops. More flavorful than I expected, fairly malty with crisp hops, but leaves a vaguely unpleasant astringent finish. Light to medium body and smooth carbonation. Not bad for the style. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 23, 2004 Barely interesting - a light version of a Dortmunder. Some bready malts - thinner. Not much hop presence at all. Serve this with food. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England

Hazy orange colour, no head and jammy aroma. A full, malty taste, spritzy on the tongue leading to a honey finish. Slightly syruppy mouthfeel. Tasty and crisp, somewhere between a craft ale and German export Lager.
