Commercial Description:
Once reserved for Bavarian royalty for its light sparkling quality, Hefeweizen is considerably more democratic today. In fact, at Gordon Biersch we've brewed a special batch of our Hefeweizen to serve our guests throughout July and August! Hundreds of years ago in Germany, wheat beers were considered "breakfast" or "after church" beers, a testament to their light refreshing flavor and a tradition of drinking them on weekend afternoon. We invite you to enjoy our Hefeweizen any day of the week this summer along with our special summer menu.

On tap in Atlanta. Pour was cloudy gold with white head. Nose was of strong banana and spice. Taste was about the same with plenty of carbonation. Very easy drinking, more like a soft drink.

A hazy orange color, darker than expected. Sweet banana scent and flavor, a bit of spice in the follow. Good but to me, plain. Again, a fair but bland GB offering.

Cloudy orange color. Clove and wheat in the aroma. Light citrus. Flavor has the same qualities with a little banana as well. Uber carbonated. Lemon like finish. OK.

A draft at the D.C. Location. We stopped in after the tourist thing, It was hot and our tongues tasted like a turkish towel. The Hef was just the thing; a cloudy yellow with a nice white head. It was light and balanced. It took the swelling out of the tongue. It was refreshing and encouraged another. Just what I wanted in a Hefe.

It’s not a BAD Hef. It has a nice bouquet and hits the palate. Good with or without lemon. But not the greatest Hef.

A cloudy yellow appearance with a large head. The aroma consists of lemons, bananas, and bread. The flavor is rather sour with a hint of bubblegum but the banana flavors running amuck. This is true to style sort of. Overall pretty good.

Enjoyed one of these on tap @ the Arena District brewpub with my boys & a superb dish of Filet Medallions & Crab stuffed Shrimp. Nose of bananas, pears, apples, and sweet sawdust, with an underlying tone of citrus. Pours a hazy blonde. The tall uber creamy mostly lasting white head looks NO2 blown. The mostly malty brew has no shortage of sweetness with a decent acidic bite. Very refreshing. The medium creamy body is very lively, the finish feels very snappy.
