Commercial Description:
Once reserved for Bavarian royalty for its light sparkling quality, Hefeweizen is considerably more democratic today. In fact, at Gordon Biersch we've brewed a special batch of our Hefeweizen to serve our guests throughout July and August! Hundreds of years ago in Germany, wheat beers were considered "breakfast" or "after church" beers, a testament to their light refreshing flavor and a tradition of drinking them on weekend afternoon. We invite you to enjoy our Hefeweizen any day of the week this summer along with our special summer menu.

An orangish golden beer with a genrous frothy white head. Very cloudy, always a plus. Aroma of spice, mainly clove and somw waxy woodtones. Flavor is refreshing, light, fruity, citrus, has a good, behaved bite, Some vanilla in the flavor. Body goes a little flatter after the first few minutes. Flavor is full though, and finish is strong, and agreeable. A good beer. Would drink again.

Now I love Hefe’s but I think I may have gotten this out of a dirty tap or something. Lackluster carbonation, no head, almost seemed like it was left out in the open, then put on draft. Chalk it up to a bad experience, I will try again when I come across it. If it is better I will most certainly re-rate.

On tap at Colorado Springs airport. The only thing worthwhile on tap here. Everything else was bad. I love Hefe’s, so I always rate them higher than other people. Cloudy yellow w/ small microfoam head. Aroma is nice and yeasty with a little lemon and banana notes. Sweetish. Easy to drink. Deliciouss. I love hefe’s!

Draft. Grapefruit brown color. Light, soapy head. Lemony and spicy, chili powder, coriander. Flat flavoring. Thin body but pleasing. Doughy in residual. OK

Poured from tap a hazy darker golden color with thin white head. Nose is nice with a clove spiciness, sweet malt and a little banana. Flavor is good coming in with a little sweet honey, caramel, clove and banana. Palate is full and malty with some carbonation but not enough imho for a hefeweizen. Overall, I thought the flavor was very good just lacking in carbonation to make it truly great.

I found the Aroma, and palate both weak for a Hefe. The taste does not last long either and goes flat in the glass quickly. Over all not a bad beer but not great.

Dark straw in appearance, opaque. Darker near the top. Yeasty aroma, with a hint of caramel. The flavor, small bit of yeast on the surface, strong wheat tones dominating the malts, and a touch of apple and citrus. A very good hef, with a good balance of sweetness, bitterness, and leafy grain.
