Appearance: cloudy dark burnt orange, creamy off white head, heavy drippy lace,
Aroma: big bready malt aroma with and abundance of floral and earthy hops,
Flavor: rich malt flavor, nice bready character is brought out by a growing caramel sweetness, well balanced by an earthy character that provides the balance but otherwise stays out of the way,

Cloudy, dark dull amber. The aroma is very toasty with some whole grain bread crust. Very toasty sort of a cracked munich malt taste but with caramel undertones. A little bit syrupy.

In D.C.: Beautiful copper body with a nice head. Sweet caramel aroma, and sweet caramel & alcohol flavor. I found the sweetness pleasant at first, but overwhelming by the end of the .5 litre glass.

Tap@Gordon Biersch, Seattle. Pretty sweet, bready/grainy grassy, tasted like their other strong lagers. Lightly herbal finish, once again it was OK.

Draught, Seattle Fully hazy orange-amber; little yellowish rim. Very bready, bit sour bread-like, citrussy acidity>. Sweet taste with only a citrus flavour, no acidity here. In the background some sweetness, but without the bready character. Bit burning MF; medium bodied, bit to the "smooth" side. Bit unidimensional, not very heartlifting.

Pours copper with an off white head. Smells of caramel, light spice, crisp. Tastes of caramel malt, a touch of pepper, some light spicy notes on the finish. Enjoyable.
