Clear, orange-ish rust, amber with no head. Aroma of stewed fruit, maybe cherry. Flavor is smokey, lightly bitter, oak, slightly spicey. Mine was nearly flat, but it was the third taste so maybe it just can’t sit for 10 minutes. Reminded me of a flat Shinerbock.

Bottle purchased in Monterey, CA retail store. Wood, wood and more wood notes. Great with smoked ham and smoked cheese. Really nice with food.

nice amber colored lager. very malty with just a hint of hoppyness. crisp flavor and a smooth aftertaste. quite thin for a supposed malty lager.

On tap at the Gordon Biersch resataurant at the Colorado Springs airport. Poured copper, with a tan, foamy head. Nose and flavor was mildly malty with a bit of hops in the finish and a hint of alochol. It was good beer, but certainly nothing special.

[At the DC location] An orange beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of both caramel and malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, leading to a dry crisp end.

On tap poured a reddish/amber color with a nice off white head. The aroma was clean with more of a malt profile. The taste was a malty lager with a bit of a sweet finish. Overall a good beer, but a bit too sweet and malty for my taste.

Like the german style beers GB seems to favor. This one was a reddish-dark orange beer with some retention on the white head. Malty, doughy aroma. Much the same in the palate with a sticky finish. Average.
