Dec 25, 2005 Pours amber with chill haze, off-white medium head. Nose is faintly spiced. Rather thin malty flavors with allspice overtones, very low bitterness, some flowery hop character especially towards the end.

Dec 25, 2005 Weird reviews. Pretty uninteresting brew. Good Oktoberfest color ... reddish amber and hazy. Nose of sweet malts. Tatse of sweet malts, some floral hops, some unpleasant herbal vegetable off-flavors.

Dec 24, 2005 It’s nice clear copper color is the most appealing part about this beer. I love some of the Gordon Biersch beers, but this one fell far from my expectations.

Dec 24, 2005 Pours a medium amber color. Aromas of roast malts, caramel, and a touch of spice(ginger?). Flavor has a nice smooth sweet roasted taste. A little bitter on the finish.

Nov 7, 2005 bottle 12 oz. Clear copper/red with very small beige head. Rather dry & a bit sour, unremarkable, with a cooked malt flavor. There was some redeeming bitterness. This tastes just like what it was, a lousey supermarket selection in F’ing Yuma, AZ.
I won’t be buying this shit again even if it is $4.79/6.

Oct 14, 2005 A tasty little brew. Sweet like your mammys cheeks. Not really that sweet, but smooth. I am enjoying this one. Palate could use a little more, but its good for a BBq atmosphere. Underrated in my opinion

Oct 12, 2005 Sampled on draught, in a 1 liter mug at Gordon Biersch in Tysons Corner. Pours a nice amber-gold with a medium thick, head. Leaves decent lacing. Smell is earthy, clay, with sweet spices and vegeteable like hops. Taste is enjoyable, never gets watery. Steady malt flavors along with spry hops to entice the tongue. Swell beer...

Oct 11, 2005 Updated: Apr 6, 2006On tap at the Atlanta brewpub. toasty. excellent lacing, appropriate head. hoppy scent. good copperish color. well done. UPDATE 4/2/6: On tap at the San Francisco brewpub. Dark gold to light amber in color with an off-white head. The head dies very quickly. Has a slightly toasted caramel aroma. Awesome balanced sweetness. Just delicious. Seems very close to an authentic festbier. The SF brewer is good.
