A tasty little brew. Sweet like your mammys cheeks. Not really that sweet, but smooth. I am enjoying this one. Palate could use a little more, but its good for a BBq atmosphere. Underrated in my opinion

Sampled on draught, in a 1 liter mug at Gordon Biersch in Tysons Corner. Pours a nice amber-gold with a medium thick, head. Leaves decent lacing. Smell is earthy, clay, with sweet spices and vegeteable like hops. Taste is enjoyable, never gets watery. Steady malt flavors along with spry hops to entice the tongue. Swell beer...

On tap at the Atlanta brewpub. toasty. excellent lacing, appropriate head. hoppy scent. good copperish color. well done. UPDATE 4/2/6: On tap at the San Francisco brewpub. Dark gold to light amber in color with an off-white head. The head dies very quickly. Has a slightly toasted caramel aroma. Awesome balanced sweetness. Just delicious. Seems very close to an authentic festbier. The SF brewer is good.

Pint poured at the Gordon Biersch Brewpub in San Francisco, brown with a frothy head. Aroma is a sour maltiness, but the flavour is quite sweet (stewed fruits?). Little on the palate.

Dark brown in color. Mellow malt aroma. Fairly smooth flavor, very drinkable. A little pale in the end somewhat bitter. An easy going oktoberfest.

GB Marzen is just like its description, sweet, smooth and very Yuengling Lager like. Most bars in Santa Cruz, CA either had it on draft or in bottles. I had a few while chatting to the barmaids at the Ideal Bar & Grille.

On tap. Color is a deep copper, perfectly clear. Aroma is of malt and totally devoid of yeasty characteristics. Taste is slightly sweet with a nice follow-though of malt with a balance of bitterness. Carbonation was rather low, but the mouthfeel was nicely full. Go with this instead of the Festbier...

Bottle. Copper color with a non-existant head. Smells of malts and nuts. Tastes malty, metallic, a bit skunky, and slightly bitter. Finish is bitter. Lots and lots of prickly bubbles. Light in the mouth with very little body. Not bad.
