Malty aroma intermingles between grainy & toasty. Clean w/ a hint of herbal hop. Well balanced and fairly boring! Lightly sweet w/ a toasted malt flavor; Clean. The finish is lighlty dry and toasty. The aftertaste is clean and lifeless. Lighter body, smooth w/ medium high carbonation. Overall not a bad beer, just nothing outstanding. iratherbe (255), Marlton, New Jersey, USA

Pretty good though I think this lacked a bit of the malty sweetness for a Marzen and never quite got to a really fufilling flavor -more dry and crisp than it probably should be. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 7, 2005 Draught @ DC: Clear amber with light red highlights when held to the light. Has a small, quickly disappearing off-white head. The aroma is mild at best; I get hints of caramel malt, toffee, and a bit of sweet light malt. The taste is a bit less subtle, showing notes of mild caramel, sweet malt, and a touch of bitterness. Light-medium bodied, medium carbonation, slightly watery towards the finish. murawski (158), USA

Overall, about average. lizbetann (3), USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 3, 2005 I have a taste for sweeter beers, so this auburn lager is right up my alley. Enough of a bitter edge to keep it interesting. I get it both from the grocery store and my local GB restaurant. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 29, 2005 Bottle: Fiery amber, clear, large white head, frothy, soft carbonation, very sticky lacing.   Subtle malt aroma, very subtle.   Slight plastic oriented malt backbone.   A touch of charred wood/campfire.   Not terribly big on the malt side.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Muddled malty finish.   The only thing going for this one is that the flavor, and off flavors, aren’t very strong.
