Draft in Hawaii. Reddish brown in color with an averaged sized head. Sweet malty smelling and tastes. Not bad (or was it the secenary looking out into the ocean that made it taste better).

This beer has a somewhat funky sweet flavor to it I can't pin down, not bad, though. I like October's/Marzen's alot, but this one isn't overly "clean" or smooth for the style. It's quite drinkable, and I do buy it on occasion. Above average is about it.

Some beers are bland, others are mediocre. This one is simply shameful. The clear copper red body was somewhat promising, but the flavor is cheap and adjuncty, reminiscent of the rice syrup homebrewers use to brew malt liqours. Sugary and that's about it. A lame effort and a lame brewer.

This brew definately ranks on the lower end of the Oktober/Marzen spectrum. The color is artificial, the flavor lacking and dull, and the palate quite disappointing. It is drinkable, but hell what beer isn't? It is substance and integrity that makes a good beer. Not the ominpresent mass production of marginality that plagues too many brewers. This is a fine example of the latter.

Pours a nice coppery brown color with a perfectly white head. Aroma is earthy and organic. Flavors are mainly caramel. Very one-dimensionsal but not bad at all. One of the better I've had of this style.

If but one word could be used for this brew, then that word is, 'Smooth.' I am quite fond of the smooth auburnness of this brew from California. It is not perfect - its flaw probably being a lack of taste or palate, and yet it is so smooth I feel certain it would go terrifically with barbeque in the back yard or something. Its slightly above average 5.7% ABV is good, too, although I didn't realise it was all that strong whilst drinking it - it didn't really taste of alcohol at all. Overall, good.

Bottle. Dark amber color with a billowing off-white head. Aroma is of sweet malt and grassy hops. Clean taste with a slight caramel sweetness followerd by a little bitterness. Not a lot going on, but it's not bad.
