Elwood (661), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Oct 25, 2009 Serving: Draft.
Appearance: Deep gold color with a frothy white head.
Aroma: Light malt and floral notes.
Flavor: Crisp and clean but a little heavy with the malt. Good dose of malt sweetness paired with grassy, spicy hops.
Palate: Medium-high carbonation with a light mouthfeel and a medium-short finish.
Overall: I think this one is a bit underrated. This is one of the more solid examples of a pilsner I’ve had lately. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Oct 24, 2009 Full golden. Heavy skunky pils aroma. Full malty taste and muthfeel. Good body without being too heavy. Uglyradio (775), Greenville, South Carolina, USA Sep 3, 2009 On tap at Reagan International Airport in D.C....Clear gold color...Mildly hoppy aroma...Clean crisp mouthfeel....Grassy and a bit grainy in the flavor...Lingering mild hop finish... boto (1319), Granby, Connecticut, USA Aug 16, 2009 Draught in Washington DC location: This one pours a clear golden color. There was a big white head on it that left a lot of lacing. The aroma is decent, but milder. It is earthy, with some malts and a hint of hops. The taste is good also. A touch malty and earthy, but needs more hops. TheGrandMaster (1846), Auckland, New Zealand Aug 10, 2009 Draught at San Francisco Airport. Dark gold with a large foamy head. Not much of an aroma, just a touch metallic. A dry palate, but a bit thin. Grainy malt flavour with just enough hop to make it interesting. BeerBitch12 (16), , Oklahoma, USA Jul 20, 2009 Drank from the bottle...not much of an aroma...light, clear golden color, very simple, hoppy taste, with a hint of sweet...not much to matter. Light and refreshing without having to commit. No flavors in particular come to mind. It was hot out, so it was refreshing. ben4321 (955), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 14, 2009 Location: We have a bunch of these in the metro DC area, I think I’ve prob been to 3 of them, including the one in "Downtown Rockville" that I visit pretty often, I’ve had this one on tap there
Overall Impression:
Very standard/average/(Insert adjective here) Pils PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Apr 14, 2009 Tap at the San Francisco Airport location: Golden pour with good clarity adn a dense off white head that sticks around. Sweet pilsner aroma- some vegetal malt character, mild flowery saaz notes- clean. Rounded flavor with a crisp light palate. Firm malt base is reminiscent of sweet potato- evident herbal saaz/ peppery hallertau bitterness balances the pils base. ot far off from Pilsner Urquell. Solid, and a bit underrated.
