Kinda citrusy, but not overly- a nice beer, but nothing extraordinary. Had it on tap in California at the brewery. tupalev (2617), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 28, 2004 Better than the golden export, but still very bland. Had a cleaner taste, could actually tell it was lightly hopped (slight citrusy aroma), and it was ok to wash down some fries, but still just above macro, well below good local micro (I had a king brewery pilsner earlier in the evening). Theirs is a reason they have lowered the price of a pint to $3.50 Canadian at the Whitby, Ontario location – they simply do not make outstanding beer. Drew (2409), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 23, 2004 I really enjoyed this beer. Smelled "fresh" Smooth bready malts combined with more of a peppery saaz finish than I expected. Another nice hot weather beer. pobenohne (504), Northern Liberties, Pennsylvania, USA

Passed on the extra shot of booze at $2, and passed on the California Pizza special. Hey - microbrew in the Airport - try Hartzfield sometime. papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA

This one has the same sweet honey like start as the others, but with just a hint of hop spice in the finish. Perkeo (318), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 18, 2004 Fairly convincing noble hop character in this, smooth and clean with good malt backbone and a refined bitterness and floral noble hop aroma. Fairly fresh bottle, less than a month old, sometimes in a beer like this that makes all the difference... Silphium (2137), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 14, 2004 Boring. Flavor is weaker than some macroswill. Just a touch of malt biscuit in the aroma and flavor, finishing with bitter hops. The definition of lameness. A poem, anyone?
Gordon Biersch woke up one day To brew some beer, pave the way To a time of good fun and cheer Which requires, my friend, a tall glass of beer
A pilsner! He cried, red in the face Ran to his kettle, this was a race To gain praise and fame for brewing this pleasure A beer quite tasty yet light as a feather.
The yeast got to work, the slurry was clear "Pilsner" was ready, the day was now near The cap popped off and the liquid did pour Alas, only to anguish and bore. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA
