Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Aug 22, 2009 Pours a dark, barely translucent honey-golden-brown with a fairly thick and frothy white head. Aroma is strong, yeasty and malty with an undertone of what must be rye. Flavor is malty and yeasty with some of that rye flavor - not complex but still pleasing and enjoyable. Thick, tingly texture leaves behind a good fizzy feeling. rustychiles (997), Mesa, Arizona, USA Apr 5, 2008 On tap at Restaraunt. Hazy gold with small white head. Aroma of yeast, malt, rye. Flavor of malt, spices, a touch of banana and clove and some breadyness that is very faint. Odd brew, not much flavor to it like most of GB’s other brews. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Jul 6, 2007 On tap @ GB (San Diego) - Pours a hazy golden color with thin white film head. Aroma is yeast, sweet malt, and esters. Flavor is malt and spice. Light to medium body. A decent beer. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Sep 17, 2006 On Tap at Columbus Microbrew Fest - Poured cloudy copper with a big offwhite foamy head that stayed well. Aromas of bannana, clove, and caramel. Flavor is bannana, clove, toasted malts, and caramel. Medium bodied with soft carbonationa and pretty unique. Enjoyable. Tmoney99 (4656), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 31, 2006 Draft at Columbus, Oh. Poured hazy dark copper with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with very good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, banana and clove aroma. Medium body with a smooth sticky texture with soft carbonation. Medium balanced malty wheat flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This beer went well with my blue cheese wedge salad. brentfeesh (1030), Gadsden, Alabama, USA Aug 28, 2006 Sampled at the 2006 Southern Brewers Festival. Did not know this wasn’t in the data base or I would have taken more detailed notes about the beer. In any event, I only noted what I thought about it, not alcohol content or commercial description. Pours hazy orange. Smells like a rye based wheat beer with a semi-sharp nose. Odd but drinkable. Sharp rye mellowed by earthy tones. Dryish full body. Not bad.
