On tap at Tyson’s location. Pours an attractive cloudy, unfiltered dark brown with a creamy, dense off-white head. A slight tinge of roast with some herbal notes in the nose. Flavor has notes of bread/caramel/toffee with a pinch of roast and light chocolate. Ends with a pleasant grassy noble hop character. Very easy to drink. Medium to light bodied, but not watery with moderate to lively carbonation. Well-done.

Draft: Starts strong stout like, mid way it becomes simpler, maltier and sweeter. Finish is refreshing light.

{draft @ New Orleans loc’n} Clear dark chestnut brown with an off-white moderate foamy head. Pleasantly roasted aroma, chocolatey palate, crisp dry finish. Very nice.

Black color. Soma roasted malt and cardboard aroma. Nice flavor, dry, mix of roasted malt and chocolate malt, milky. Not bad.

On tap at GB restaurant. Dark brown/black color. Minimal head with a ring of tiny tan bubbles remaining. A bit of a smoky burnt toast, dark roast malty aroma. Pretty sweet flavors--malt, caramel, a light smokiness, a bit of coffee, and a very slight hint of lactic acid. Lightly carbonated, nice soft slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Pretty good stuff, I’ve had more than one of these and it becomes my "go-to" when confronted between a choice of GB products...

A decent schwarzbier. It has a very roasted nose and a very light body for a beer this dark. Other than that it’s pretty malty, with a slight coffeeish aroma and flavor. Worth trying if you’re at a Gordon Biersch but not worth seeking out.

Pours a deep brown with a tan head. Light roasted aroma with little else to the aroma. Flavor has a nice roasted taste with a coffe like finish.

VA Beach location. Deep brown. Faint coffee aroma. Strong coffee flavor. A touch of a carbonic bite. Not bad, sort of a desert schwarz.
