JediMindTricks (240), Hampton, Virginia, USA Oct 21, 2009 Pours a dark gold color w/ a decent white head. Not much to it. Light to medium bodied. BelgianBeerGal (1276), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 28, 2009 Local bottle. Pours a clear gold colour with a medium white head. Grassy citrus smell with some malt. Clean crisp flavour that finishes with some spice and light hop bitterness. Decent if fairly unremarkable. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 1, 2009 Pours a translucent pale yellow with a one to two finger frothy white head. The nose is bready, nice malt profile, mildly fruity, some herbal hop profile. The flavor is a bit thin, malty, some grassy hops. Bleh. Thin palate with low carbonation. JCB (1716), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 29, 2009 12oz bottle at a fantasy football draft, which seems appropriate somehow. Pale straw color with a thin head and very light carbonation. Hard to detect much spice or anything in the aroma. Flavor is crisp and dry to start, with a touch of malt sweetness emerging, but gets watery fast. Meh. kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 20, 2009 12oz bottle from Total Wine (Tampa, FL). Pours a slightly hazy golden color with thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of caramel, honey, wheat, yeast, light citrus, some slight floral esters. Flavor is sweet and slightly malty with notes of wheat, caramel, honey, yeast, light citrus, slight spice, some funk. Generally light body with a wheaty finish. joet (1699), Fulton, California, USA Aug 14, 2009 czech hops, pilsy flavor, lemon, golden beer, smaller bubbles, creamier feel, more hop character. love that it’s smaller than 5.5 - it’s more drinkable than crap beer. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Aug 3, 2009 Pours clear golden into the glass, with a diminishing thin white head that reduces to trace bubbles and spotty lace. The nose is very sparse, and of earthen grains. The flavors have some citrus, grains, lemon acidity... (in that order).... and a finish of subdued grainy hops. A nice citric wake-up initially, but with a thin, almost watery mouthfeel and soft carbonation levels, this just misses the mark on coming in as a superior, top-tier Kölsch. Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jul 31, 2009 Served as the seasonal offering at the Las Vegas brewpub. Golden with a light colored head as per the style. Not a lot of flavor to be found. There was just a bit of malt, a bit of hop, and the tiniest bit of honey. A light summer beer that does not have very much to offer.
